Beginning the Journey - Brian Solsbee

 

Reflecting on the annual meeting, I think about the positive impact that Mike Vinson has had on the organization and as a mentor to me. It’s exciting to have to opportunity to replace someone for which I have so much respect. I will cling to his philosophy that "TMEPA exists for the benefit of its members, and our success is their success" as I lead the organization into the future.

 

As someone who embraced the Air Force core values many years ago of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do, I am ready to carry those same core values into this new role. This is a role that mandates those same principles as we work with our members and legislators for the betterment of public power in this great state. It energizes me to accept this opportunity and to begin traveling the state to meet with each of you. To get from Memphis to Bristol and all parts in between will take some time, but it will be time well spent as we continue our mission in the name of service to our members. I want to know the needs of the members and build a vision and strategy to help our association for years to come. I am looking forward to the journey.
