Events And Education
One of TAHFM’s missions is to provide valuable educational programs to its members, and your feedback is very important to that process. Please take a few moments to fill out our conference & speaker surveys. These surveys give our planning committee a great understanding of what the industry likes and needs and helps us plan the overall education for the year, including the 2023 Annual Conference!

Thank you to everyone who completed the Membership Survey while at the TAHFM Annual Conference in Houston. Here are some stats from the Fun Section of the survey.

TAHFM Committees perform tasks all year long that are vital to the success of the organization. Committees meet on their own schedule and provide reports to the board of directors. An organization is only as strong as the committees who make things happen to achieve success.  Select committees are available for Industry Partners too!  Get more details and sign up at https://www.tahfm.org/page/volunteer

Certifications:
I am a Building Maintenance Engineer and am working towards becoming a Plumber.  I am also scheduled to certify with Pellerin for maintenance and repair of the laundry equipment at my hospital.

How has TAHFM/ASHE contributed to your career?
It has really helped in my education. My department does a lot of training with TAHFM materials.  Some recent ones include life safety training, emergency response, and infection control.

What is your background in the field of healthcare facilities?
I have worked in healthcare for 6 years. The first 18 months of that were in the Environmental Services department. Then I was promoted to the Engineering Department. In addition to normal repairs, I am responsible for inspections & repair of the Eyewash Stations, Central Utility Plant logs, preventative checks and services on the Medical Air & Vacuum Systems. I also help with the execution of the Fire Drill training.

Tell us something about yourself.
My wife and I have 7 children, 53 grandkids, and 16 great grandkids. That's a total of 76 people to shop for at Christmas. We put up 3 Christmas trees every year to have enough room for all the presents.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really like the people. They are very kind, and so appreciative when I am able to help them out. I also like the challenges of the job.  It's different everyday. I never get bored.

What are your plans for future growth?
Plumbing Apprentice, Pellerin mechanic, and promotion to Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic
