I received my CHFM in 2019 and my masters in business administration in 2020.
How has TAHFM/ASHE contributed to your career?
Everything I have learned about health care facilities management has come from the educational resources that ASHE and TAHFM provide. It is so reassuring knowing that any question I have can be answered by the TAHFM and ASHE community.
Background into the field of healthcare facilities
I started as an administrative assistant in the engineering department at Children's Health. From there, I was promoted to a compliance specialist role, where I was responsible for system-wide engineering-related regulatory compliance. In 2019, I was proudly promoted to facility manager, overseeing 25 of Children's Health offsite facilities as well as engineering-related regulatory compliance.
Personal Tidbit
My favorite hobby is deep sea fishing! I try to go at least once a year to the gulf. Last year, I caught a state-record black snapper in Orange Beach, Alabama!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love knowing that the work I do is all to help patients heal in a safe, comfortable environment.
What are your plans for future growth?
I am hoping to learn more about facility management and continue to grow with my team.
