TxDOT January 2013 Tonnage

The TxDOT highway letting is scheduled for January 8th and 9th. The total tonnage of asphalt pavements being let is 721,204.

The Texas Department of Transportation, the AGC of Texas and the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association (TXAPA) will be hosting a series of 10 Hot Mix Specification Conferences beginning January 30, 2013. These conferences are a cooperative effort between TxDOT and the paving industry to update individuals on 5 New Special Specifications for HMA. The 2013 TXAPA 39th Annual Meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency River Walk in San Antonio, Texas. Be sure to mark your calendars now for this important event. The dates are September 25-28, 2013 which is a Wednesday - Saturday.

The Hot Mix Asphalt Center has increased prices on its asphalt courses for the first time since 1999. The prices go into effect beginning October 1, 2012.

The 2013 HMAC proficiency program begins. TxDOT will be sending out proficiency samples as soon as next week. Because so many samples are mailed out, this is a two week process. Please be on the lookout for your technicians samples.
