In his final official act as TxDOT Director of Engineering and Safety Operations, Michael Lee joins Harold and Emily to reflect on his years with the department, his relationship with TXAPA, his plans for retirement, and his thoughts on what's important when it comes to maintaining safe roadways and a thriving industry.

Our first ever Quarterly Membership Meeting and Technology Showcase on Monday, July 19, was a success! It was great to see our members in person, hear from TxDOT Construction Division Director Duane Milligan, and interact with our E-ticketing members. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again at the Annual Meeting in September!

TXAPA will continue to move the needle for quality in the coming decade by promoting a new concept in asphalt paving communication, a gathering of key personnel just prior to placement and compaction called the “All-Hands.” Chuck Fuller has discussed the All-Hands on TXAPA Live, and the All-Hands section of our website is packed with helpful resources and information.

TXAPA has assembled an adaptable, in-house training program for our members to use on inclement weather work days. Documents, instructor guides, and related videos for this program can be found in the Members Only tab upon logging in to texasasphalt.org. Need help logging in? Watch this video.
 
TXAPA has developed a custom education program to set our contractor members up for success by offering a clear, comprehensive look at each of the 73 changes in the new specs that may impact your projects.
