Survey results are in and attendees overwhelmingly have rated TXAPA’s Asphalt Education Inspector Course as "Excellent." Specifically, more than 90% of respondents say they will apply what they have learned to their work, and that the information is relevant to their job duties.

 

 

A technician from each level of Hot Mix Asphalt Certifications (1A, 2, and 1B) and one technician from the Soils and Flexible Bases Certifications (101, 102, 103, 201, and 202) are chosen to receive the award. The TXAPA Scholarship Program benefits promising students enrolled in engineering and technical programs throughout the state of Texas. TXAPA members are encouraged to share the scholarship application with their employees — employees and their dependents are eligible for consideration. The application deadline is July 1, 2021. 

TXAPA Live airs at 3 PM on Thursdays, three times a month, skipping a week on the date of the TxDOT highway letting. You only need to register for TXAPA Live once, and a reminder email with a link to join will be sent to you an hour before each broadcast. One weather condition many drivers underestimate the dangers of is driving in fog. Fog does not affect roadways or vehicle handling, but it can significantly decrease visibility in a very short amount of time. Fog-related accidents are extremely dangerous because they can lead to multiple-car pileups, chain-reaction crashes, life-threatening injuries, and delayed response times. The asphalt binder lab tests around 500 supplier Quality Monitoring (QM) samples and district project samples every month. The asphalt binder test results summary dashboard provides an overall summary of all samples tested organized by supplier, material grade, date sampled, date tested, batch, reference sample, and a pass/fail indicator.
