WHEN & WHERE
Anytime between Friday, August 21, 2020, and Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the course of your choice.

WHAT
A "virtual golf tournament" is much like running a virtual race where each runner chooses their course, runs a specified distance, and posts their time to the race website. Collectively, the runners have run a "virtual" race. In the same way, you play a virtual golf tournament on the course of your choice and following some rules to which everyone in the tournament will adhere. Your team will interact and post scores via a closed Facebook group for registered players only. Each registered player will receive a golf ball marked with the TXAPA logo for game play. Teams are strongly encouraged, but we welcome any player who wants to get out and play while supporting a good cause.

ALL proceeds will go directly to the TXAPA Scholarship Program, a federally recognized public charity under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501 (c)(3). Donations are tax-deductible under IRC 170.

FORMAT
One to four-person shamble. In a shamble, each golfer tees off on every hole. The team then selects their best drive and each team member plays their second shot from there. After the second shot, each golfer plays their own ball for the remainder of the hole. Ladies will be playing from the forward tees and men will be playing from the middle tees. You may move your ball one scorecard length.

Take FIVE STROKES off your final score!
Complete the below tasks and post to the Facebook group or to Twitter using #TXAPATeeOff to take scores off your final score.

1. It is important to play as a team.
Take a photo of the entire team at the first hole.

2. It is important to stay hydrated.
Take a photo of the entire team simultaneously chugging a drink of any type.

3. Why do dogs like this so much?
Find out by taking a photo of one of your team members hanging their head out of the golf cart.

4. Show your support.
Take a picture of one of you team members teeing off with a TXAPA ball. The TXAPA logo must be visible.

5. Closest to the pin on a par 3.
Take a picture of your TXAPA ball on your closest shot on a par 3.

How to turn in your score:
Once you have completed the round, turn in your score using the best ball for each hole. At this point deduct strokes for completing any of the tasks from your final score. Take a picture of the scorecard and post it on the Facebook group page or to Twitter using #TXAPATeeOff.

The winner of the TXAPA Virtual Golf Tournament and trophy will be announced during the virtual Quality Asphalt Pavement Awards ceremony on Tuesday, September 29, at 2 PM.
