TXAPA Recent Activities

TXAPA has had a busy month.  We attended the Texas Association of County Engineers and Roadway Administrators (TACERA). Chuck Fuller was on the agenda to speak and TXAPA had a trade show booth.

The Southeast Asphalt User Producer Group (SEAUPG) held its annual meeting in Corpus Christi.  TXAPA sponsored a Texas Hold Em poker party on Tuesday evening after the reception.  This was well-attended.  Robert Lee, TxDOT was the chairman of SEAUPG this year.

The Major Associate Members held a meeting at the TXAPA office in Buda. Jerry Peterson with TxDOT attended this meeting and gave a recap on the 545-C quality program.  The SPG spec is still ongoing. TxDOT is working with different districts on past projects. Other discussions were about tack and adhesion specification and MSCR.

TXAPA held a Partner in Quality meeting in the San Antonio District in November along with a Maintenance PIQ meeting in Buda and another PIQ meeting in the Dallas District.. Fort Worth and Yoakum are scheduled for December.

The NAPA annual meeting is scheduled for Jan. 29 - Feb. 1 in Orlando, Florida. TXAPA will be in attendance at this important meeting.  For more information visit their website at  http://www.asphaltpavement.org.
