Proposition 7 or (Prop 7) is a constitutional amendment drafted by the 84th Texas legislature and authorized by SJR 5.  This amendment will be on the November 3, 2015 statewide ballot for approval. This amendment would authorize a new stable source of funding for transportation in the State of Texas. This proposition is dedicated to the construction and maintenance of Texas roadways. If this proposition passes, a portion of money received from general sales and use taxes along with a portion of the motor vehicle sales taxes would go toward the general highway fund.

There is an article in the upcoming Texas Asphalt magazine that is more detailed.  Be sure to read this important article and remember to vote "Yes" on November 3, 2015.
