NAPA In the News - Funding Information

On July 30, the Senate passed a six-year surface transportation reauthorization bill by a vote of 65–34, sending the legislation to the House for further consideration. Visit http://goaspha.lt/1h8oTq8 to see how your Senators voted. Prior to adjourning for August recess, the House passed H.R. 3236, authorizing the highway and transit programs through Oct. 29. This three-month extension has enough funding to fulfill the original five-month extension passed in the House on July 15. The Senate followed suit to provide time for the House to consider and pass a long-term highway bill after Labor Day. NAPA is preparing a grassroots campaign to reach members of Congress during the August recess with in-district meetings and plant tours. A webinar during the week of Aug. 3 is planned to help companies prepare for and participate in this grassroots blitz.
