Changes to Item 5

Longer Lasting Asphalt Pavements! That is what we as an Industry and TxDOT are trying to achieve, therefore, we must raise the bar on our mixes and materials to obtain these types of results. TXAPA will be an educational freeway of information; please don’t hesitate to call or ask questions.

This month’s topic will focus on changes you will see in the specifications concerning Item 5. The following is the new paragraph that has been added to item 5. "At the written request of the Engineer, immediately remove from the project any employee or representative of the Contractor or a subcontractor who, in the opinion of the Engineer, does not perform work in a proper and skillful manner or who is disrespectful, intemperate, disorderly, uncooperative, or otherwise objectionable. Do not reinstate these individuals without the written consent of the Engineer."
