STAN SWIATEK, P.E. APPOINTED TxDOT ABILENE DISTRICT ENGINEER

Effective December 1, 2013 Stan Swiatek, PE is the new Abilene District Engineer. Stan comes to Abilene from Amarillo District, where he has served as the Director of Transportation Planing and Development since joining the department in 2012. The 30-year engineering veteran began his career in 1982 as a construction engineer with Asea Brown Boveri, Inc., working on various petrochemical and power plant projects throughout the eastern United States. In 1993, Stan joined the Florida Department of Transportation and held various titles during his seventeen-year tenure there, from Resident Engineer to Operations Manager. 
After working two years as an Area Manager for a private consultant engineering firm in Florida, Stan joined TxDOT in June 2012 when he was names TP&D director in the Amarillo District. 

Stan earned a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering from Penn State University in 1982. He became a licensed Professional Engineer in 1986. He and his wife, Sue, have been married for 30 years and they have two children, Sarah and Steven.
