MAJOR ASSOCIATE MEMBERS MEET WITH TxDOT AND TTI

The TXAPA Major Associate Members, chaired by Bill Weise, Wright Asphalt, recently met with TxDOT and TTI to discuss the research and development of the Surface Performance Grade (SPG) specification. TxDOT’s Darren Hazlett and TTI’s Amy Epps-Martin presented information on the proposed performance grade binder system for seal coat binders and answered many questions concerning its implementation. A copy of the power point presentation and the one page proposed specification can be found on TXAPA’s web page (texasasphalt.org) under the members only section. As more research is completed and additional details are developed TxDOT and TTI will be presenting additional information to TXAPA on this important topic.
