TXAPA 39th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Riverwalk
That evening members were entertained by Drew Thomas Productions, Inc. Drew is a magician, from the Orlando, Florida area that brought illusions, suspense and laughter to our group. The evening was sponsored by: Kirby-Smith Machinery, Wirtgen Group, Cooper Equipment Co., Nueces Power Equipment. Thursday morning full breakfast was sponsored by: Hunter Industries, Ltd. The Awards Luncheon also took place on Thursday. This consisted of the three HMAC technician awards, the quality pavement awards and special project awards. This event was sponsored by: Apac-Texas, Inc. Thursday evening was open for all attendees to enjoy the San Antonio Riverwalk and network together. The evening weather was perfect to be outside the hotel. Friday morning began with a full breakfast that was sponsored by: Cat Paving Products, Holt Cat, Mustang Cat, Warren Cat and Weiler Products. For the Friday Joint Luncheon attendees enjoyed a little sports history and laughter from our guest speaker, Howard Kellman, from Indianapolis, Indiana. Other presentations included the Bob Gallaway Award and a special plaque was presented to Dale Rand for his service at TxDOT. The lunch was sponsored by: Pavers Supply Co., Roadtec, Inc., Astec, Inc., and Heatec, Inc. Our Friday Dinner/Casino/Scholarship, Education and Research Auction and band was sponsored by: J. Lee Milligan, Inc., Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Lion Oil Co. and MWV Evotherm. It was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all the attendees. The scholarship auction raised over $55,000.00. The Bret Graham Band was also in the house and played music throughout the evening. Saturday morning full breakfast came early and was sponsored by: Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Lion Oil Co. and MWV Evotherm. This was followed by our Saturday morning technical sessions.
