TxDOT / TXAPA Quality Asphalt Pavement Awards Program

The TxDOT / TXAPA Quality Asphalt Pavement Awards Program is underway. This year we have received a record amount of projects being nominated for an award. There were a total of 69 projects, plus 6 owner operated projects nominated.

The nominated projects were in the following categories:

4 Full Depth Large

14 Full Depth Small

12 Overlay Large

2 Overlay Large, Open Graded

24 Overlay Small

13 Overlay Small, Open Graded

The Awards Committee will be meeting this week to assign Evaluators to each of these projects. There are two evaluators for each project, one contractor and one TxDOT. All projects will be evaluated in Round 1. The top three to four projects in each category will be selected and then re-evaluated by a second team of different evaluators to determine the winner.
