Additional Specification Update Conference - April 18, 2013 in Ft. Worth

We will be offering one more Specification Update Conference on April 18, 2013 at the Fort Worth district office.  These new Special Specifications will replace Items 340, 341, 342, 344 and 346 and are scheduled to go into effect March of 2013.  The conference will provide a very good opportunity for sharing information on the latest developments in regards to hot mix specifications, materials and construction. The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude around 4:00 p.m.

TxDOT, AGC, and TXAPA extend a very cordial invitation to TxDOT employees and industry representatives to attend these conferences.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND - The Hot Mix Specification Conferences will provide a good opportunity for individuals to become more knowledgeable concerning HMA specifications and other recent hot mix topics.  The conference includes presentations and discussion of topics that will benefit anyone interested in improving quality, improving safety, reducing cost, or becoming better stewards of our environment when using hot mix asphalt in Texas including:
  • TxDOT Engineers
  • Hot Mix Technicians
  • Hot Mix Contractors
  • Hot Mix Producers
  • Material Suppliers
  • Equipment Suppliers
  • Commercial Laboratories
  • Consultants
TECHNICAL PRESENTATIONS - The conference program includes presentations by subject matter experts on Hot Mix Issues such as:
  • Substitute Binders
  • Recycled Asphalt Shingles (RAS)
  • Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP)
  • Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA)
  • Safety Improvements
  • Thermal Imaging
There will also be discussion of a number of issues that are important to designers and planners as well.  All participants will receive a free USB drive containing numerous documents and programs of interest such as specifications, test procedures, training videos and more.
 
REGISTRATION - There will be no registration fee for TxDOT, FHWA employees, AGC members or TXAPA members.  All other attendees will be charged a registration fee of $100 per person payable in advance.  Payment will not be accepted on the day of the conference.  Everyone planning to attend will need to complete and submit the conference registration form (click here to register). Note that lunch will not be provided at this conference.
