Social Media for Asphalt Companies
Environmental Life Cycle Assessment for Pavements: Understanding How to Use LCA Software

Social Media for Asphalt Companies

Learn more about how your company can add social media to its communications plan. Even if you don’t already use Facebook, Twitter, and other social media channels in your private life, they can be helpful channels for communicating with your customers, regulators, workforce, and local community. NAPA member L.L. Pelling Co. Inc. of Iowa, winner of the 2011 NAPA Web Site Award, will be highlighted as a case study of how an asphalt company can put social media to use.

Attendees will hear about:

  • What social media channels are and are not
  • How DOTs, other asphalt companies, the APA, and NAPA are using social media
  • Ways to put social media into use
  • Tips and tools to use

Webinar Date: Sept. 18, 2012
Webinar Time: 2:00 p.m. EDT

Environmental Life-Cycle Assessment for Pavements: Understanding How to Use LCA Software

As state transportation agencies continue to review a pavement's environmental impacts, the role of life-cycle assessment (LCA) becomes increasingly useful and important. Environmental LCAs can be used to compare environmental impacts (and benefits) from different pavement designs, construction methods, and even pavement types, all of which can influence agency pavement-selection decisions. Project Emission Estimator 2 (PE-2), developed by Michigan Tech University, is an LCA software package designed using real-world values from specific paving projects. This webinar will discuss environmental LCAs using both NAPA’s industry Greenhouse Gas Calculator and MTU's PE-2 software.

Webinar Date: Oct. 4, 2012
