Hot Mix Asphalt Center Website Instructions - Very Important Information for Certified Technicians

The Hot Mix Asphalt Center (HMAC) has a new website that has been fully functional since July 2010. It is imperative that anyone in your organization who holds an HMAC Certification of any kind have access to this website. The website address is: www.txhmac.org.

Certified technicians who hold a hot mix Level 1A or soils certification SB 101 or SB 201 must complete the Annual Proficiency Program. This year the samples for both hot mix and soils will be shipped out at the same time in January 2011.

Technicians must log into the website and update their information prior to November 14, 2010. The website is designed for technicians to see their work, freight, home, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, and certifications. As certified technicians, they are already considered users on the website and therefore must sign in as a user with a password.

For those technicians that have certifications from the HMAC, their user name will be their first name initial combined with their last name. There are some exceptions to this rule. If a technician has a suffix after their last name, that must be added to the user name. For example: jr, sr, II, III. Another exception to this rule is if a person has a common last name and there is more than one user with the same first initial and last name, the program has randomly added four digits behind the user name and the technician must contact the HMAC at (512) 312-2099 to get their user name.

Password information is very simple for those who have been in the program prior to July 2010. For these technicians, their password will consist of the last four digits of their social security number combined with their work zip code that we have on file. For example last four digits social security: 1234, work zip code: 78610, the password will be: 123478610. Of course if you don’t remember your work zip code that we have on file, you must contact the HMAC to find out this information.

For those technicians that have been added to the website database recently, their password is a little more complicated.  The password will be their first name initial capitalized, last name initial lower case, last four digits of their social security number, work zip code and the plus (+) sign.  For example:  John Doe, 1234, 78610 their password would be:  Jd123478610+

It is imperative that technicians go into the website and update as much information as possible.  Consequences for not logging in and updating will result in your technician not receiving a proficiency sample.  If your technician does not comply with this process, his/her certification will be suspended and he/she must come back in to the HMAC and go through the training course again.  This can be costly to the company and you could be left without proper certifications needed to comply with your contracts.
