Proficiency Program

It is time once again for the Annual Proficiency Program for all technicians who hold a Level 1A certification in hot mix and SB 101 and 201 in soils.

This year the program is a little different in that we are using the new hot mix asphalt center webpage, www.txhmac.org, as the main area of contact.

Each technician was required to go to the webpage, sign in and update their information.  Once that process was complete, they would be on the list to receive the proficiency samples.  The deadline to sign in was November 15, 2010.

Although the proficiency samples will not be sent out by TxDOT until January, 2011, it was imperative that technicians followed the above deadline.

At this time we have several hundred technicians who have not complied with this effort.  Unfortunately, those technicians will not receive samples and are at risk of losing their certifications. 

Please be sure to check with each and every one of your technicians to make sure they have followed this process.  If they have not, have them contact the Hot Mix Asphalt Center at (512) 312-2099.
