TAGITM celebrated with several award winners during the 2023 Annual Conference at La Cantera. The Excellence Award went to three deserving organizations. The city of Seguin received the award for their Ad Hoc to Enterprise Scale GIS project, the city of Grand Prairie received the award for their Digital Arraignment System project, and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) received the award for their Migration from On-Premise Phone System to UCaaS Project. Congratulations to our three Excellence Award winners!

This years’ Rising Star Award went to Joseph (Trip) Tripoli with the city of Seguin. His co-workers and peers shared that Joseph has altered the course of cybersecurity in his time serving as the city’s first IT Security Manager, which has led to Seguin receiving multiple national awards for its “Seguin Cyber Champion” program. He is genuine, down to earth, and he cares about his community. Congratulations, Joseph!

TAGITM was excited to award an Industry Partner that has displayed exceptional partnership and support to the TAGITM community. This award symbolizes the recipient’s strong commitment to advancing technology solutions to TAGITM members. This years’ Industry Partner Award went to Nomic Networks. Congratulations to Nomic Networks, and thank you for your continuing support!

Tony Gonzalez shared how honored he was for having the privilege of giving this years’ TAGITM President’s Award to Beth Ann Unger, who recently passed. He noted she was a true friend who he held near and dear to his heart always. Beth Ann served as Treasurer and Vice President in 2003-2005. She led the organization through what was then a very pivotal point for TAGITM in starting our partnership with CMP. Beth Ann re-joined the TAGITM Board in 2014 as Secretary/Treasurer. She served TAGITM as President from 2016-2017 and TML Affiliate from 2018-2020. Beth Ann received the Rick Moore Award in 2019. She served on multiple TAGITM Committees including the Education and Nominations Committees. Most of all, Beth Ann was remembered for her passion for TAGITM, encouragement, light in the world, and her constant mentorship.

TAGITM is also pleased to announce a new Award for 2024, the Beth Ann Unger Women in Technology Award. In remembrance of Beth Ann, this award’s purpose is to recognize a female within the industry whose mentorship, contributions, and achievements are appreciated by many. This award will focus on those who have mentored the younger generation. We hope to bring honor to Beth Ann’s memory and let her live on through this award each year. We look forward to granting this new award next year.

Congratulations again to all the 2023 TAGITM Award winners!
