Hello, TAGITM! I hope everyone has had a great start to the year. It is hard to believe, but the 2021 Annual Conference is only two months away. This year, we are planning to move back to an in-person format for our event. While we understand there are still agencies under travel or budget restrictions, we hope that everyone that can attend will join us in Austin. We are going to make every effort to be safe and keep our attendees healthy while at the conference. There is already an agenda planned with some of the best educational sessions we have ever had. It is sure to be one of our best conferences yet!

In January, we held our first virtual regional event. This took the place of what would have been our Dallas / Fort Worth area event. We brought together Risk Management and Information Technology personnel and discussed cybersecurity insurance and how to prepare your organization for the financial impact of a cyber-incident. All of the speakers and presenters were extremely informative and made this event a tremendous success. Kudos to the Education Committee for putting this together.

I would like to mention a couple of new additions to the website that are available to our members. In the Membership menu at the top, you will see a link called ILA Tracking. This link takes you to a map that displays the agencies within the state that have entered into inter-local agreements to share IT staff in the event of an emergency. You can use this map to see if you are close to an existing group, as well as find contact information and who to contact to join. Secondly, we have a cybersecurity page in the works right now and hope to have it launched in the coming weeks. This page will be full of cybersecurity information, links to outside agencies, and many other resources.

Have a great March!
