Mid-Cities HRA

Mid-Cities HR Association, along with area SHRM chapters DFW SMA, Fort Worth HRMA and North Texas SHRM, conducted the Fifth Annual Employment Law Symposium on January 25.

This year’s event was attended by 140 HR professionals and attorneys in the DFW area. The Symposium was held at the Cacharel Restaurant and Grand Ballroom in Arlington. This year’s Symposium was titled, "Beginning 2012 – Preventive Measures to Guide Employers through Economic Times and an Increasingly Complex Legal Environment." Attorneys from the national employment law firm Jackson Lewis LLP provided updated information on the NLRB, healthcare reform, risks of social media in the workplace, protection of business information and other relevant topics. This all-day educational event ended with networking, hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail reception.

This year’s event was a success with the support of the sponsors for this year’s Symposium - Imperative Information Group, WorkSTEPS ,The University of Texas Arlington and Liberty Mutual. A portion of the proceeds from the Law Symposium were donated to the SHRM Foundation.
