The February AHRMA Volunteer of the Month award was presented to John Steele, SPHR, Executive Director of the Texas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. John is an active member of AHRMA’s Workforce Readiness Committee, and in collaboration with several of his colleagues and the SHRM Texas State Council, has put together a program called the "Patriotic Promise" that is being presented all over Texas (and will be coming to an AHRMA event soon – stay tuned for more information). The "Patriotic Promise" is designed to help local businesses with their veterans recruitment initiatives.

John has been working with AHRMA to help us educate HR professionals on how to translate military experience to the KSAs meaningful to the civilian workforce in an effort to help put our military veterans to meaningful work, while improving the workforce at the same time. John’s work has such a broad reach, and we want him to know how much we appreciate his efforts, his support and his assistance.

Thanks John!
