Make Your SHRM Chapter Membership Count

Last month, I returned from the SHRM National Conference in Washington D.C. with over 15,000 HR professionals from all 50 states and dozens of countries. While the size and scope of the event brings great energy and enthusiasm toward our profession, the ultimate message I heard was the importance of the individual SHRM Chapter to the society and toward our ongoing growth and development as HR professionals.

Chapter membership provides outstanding networking opportunities, exposure to best practices and  the latest information in your community. It also offers the chance to give back, and develop skills as a volunteer leader. While SHRM membership provides outstanding resources, Chapter membership provides one-on-one interaction and dialog with others who share similar issues and who can provide ideas to you on some of your toughest situations. So make the small investment to join and be active in your local Chapter http://texasshrm.org/texas-chapters.

You won’t regret it!
