The North Texas SHRM chapter is hosting a seminar in Gainesville on July 17. The half-day seminar is the second in a series aimed at bringing programs to the area, located over 30 miles away from the chapter’s normal monthly meeting location.

The event begins at 9 a.m., and will wrap up after a Q&A session at 11:30 a.m. Ray Croff, owner of Turtle Creek Financial Group, will discuss non-qualified retirement plans.

The session will cover alternative plans to the traditional 401k to help employees save for retirement. Shannon Norris, an attorney with Norris Law Firm, will follow with his presentation titled Protecting Your Business from Employee Fraud. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners reports that the typical business loses 5 percent of its income each year to fraud, or an average of $147,000! Learn the most common threats to employers and how to prevent them.

The program has been submitted for HRCI and SHRM continuing education credits. The cost is $25, and includes a light breakfast. To register, visit our website at www.northtexasshrm.org.
