The North Texas Chapter of SHRM held its annual conference May 16 and 17 at the MAC Building in Denton, TX. The conference started off with guest speaker Suzie Humphreys who provided a wonderful upbeat beginning to the conference. Among the outstanding speakers were Trey Darby, Jana Bates, Russ Rosenberg, and a host of others who presented us with great information on a variety of topics. 13.5 recertification credits were awarded to those who attended the entire conference. On Thursday evening a social was held at the Oak Street Draft House which provided an evening of networking opportunities.

Every year, NTSHRM holds a raffle to raise funds for the SHRM Foundation. This year's raffle is for a gorgeous Coach purse, valued at $358. Tickets are $10 each or 3/$25.00. The drawing for the Coach purse will be held at the May 23 luncheon. Raffle tickets were available for purchase at the annual conference and will be available at the May luncheon and at any time from any board member. In addition NTSHRM auctioned two items at the conference. One item was a Rangers basket with tickets and memorabilia and the other was a Vera Bradley bag and matching clutch.

On May 23 our luncheon guest speaker will be Thomas Montgomery. His presentation:  Financial Wellness To The Rescue has approved by HRCI for one credit. Please join us at the Holiday Inn on Center Point in Denton from 11:15am to 1 pm.  Don’t forget the drawing for the raffle of the Coach purse will be held at the luncheon.
