The NSRP Surface Preparation and Coatings (SP&C) Panel conducted its summer meeting in Pittsburgh September 5-6.The meeting included a tour of the SSPC offices and the SSPC Mobile Training unit.

As of Aug. 1, 2018 SSPC was awarded its 10th DoD Training Funding Contract, effective until July 31, 2019. This contract provides training and certification courses to active military personnel at no cost. More information on how to apply for funding can be found here.

Thank you for supporting your local chapter golf events and summer meetings. With the summer over, SSPC local chapters are getting ready to begin hosting new and exciting events! But first a recap of some summer events:

The Gulf Coast Chapter held their first Painter Competition on September 15. Six teams competed and made it a family affair.
|
|
The SSPC China Chapter completed their reorganization with the election of new officers on September 8.
|
|
|

SSPC members of the Japan Chapter visited SSPC on September 6 to discuss the reorganization and future plans for the Japan Chapter.
|
|
The chapter held a celebration of the chapter’s 8th anniversary on June 14 at the SMX Convention Center in Taguig City, Metro Manila.

On July 19, SSPC volunteered at the annual Day of Hope Picnic helping serve more than 600 meals with the Light of Life organization, working at the donations table and handing out new clothing and backpacks.
|

SSPC continued its annual tradition of hosting a family friendly staff picnic at its headquarters this year on August 11. It showcased a multitude of water sports, crafts and gaming activities for the kids, and brought the summer of 2018 to a memorable close.
