As my final days wind down, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you that I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with during my 5+ years at SSPC. Thank you for your support, thank you for your advice, thank you for your assistance as we endeavored on our mission to elevate the coatings industry through our standards, training, certification and education programs. All of you, whether staff, members, board members, or acquaintances have had a great influence on our organization and on me in my role as Executive Director of SSPC. Together, we have been able to make a positive influence on an industry which is continually working to improve itself.
As with any transformational change, it is never easy, and it is not always pleasant, but it has been rewarding and something we can all take pride in. Through our concerted efforts, we have made the industry a safer place to work, raised the quality of work in the field, and provided opportunities for individuals to enter into a profession where they can support themselves and their families with well-paying jobs. But our work is not done! As SSPC now transitions into a merged organization with NACE, it becomes even more important to redouble our efforts to push the industry to an even higher level of safety, performance, and sustainability. In my new role, I will do my part to make this happen; I challenge all of you to do the same. Thank you again for all you have done for me, I hope I have the opportunity to pay it back to all of you!
