Asia Pacific Region Updates

SSPC continues to grow its presence in the Asian Pacific Region. While we have been in the region for more than 10 years providing our PCI courses as well as craftworker certification, we are trying to increase the availability and accessibility of craftworker training and certification across the region.

Malaysia
SSPC just kicked off a C7 course at Schmidt in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Additional training locations have been approved in Miri and Johor. In collaboration with IMM, SSPC is meeting the Petronas requirements for contractors and craftworkers. Also, the SSPC Malaysia Chapter will be announcing an upcoming meeting soon.

Thailand
Akzo Nobel / International Paint, a global licensee of the Trainthepainter (TTP) program, and SSPC are partnering to identify and qualify local facilities to act as hosts for TTP and C-level programs. This will allow SSPC to be more responsive to client needs and demands in the APAC region with local facilities and trainers. Two new host facilities have just been added in Thailand.

Our goal is to identify and approve at least two new or additional facilities in Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and as mentioned above, Malaysia and Thailand. This is only the beginning of what SSPC expects to be a growing presence throughout all of Asia Pacific.

China
The SSPC China Chapter has been busy preparing for a 2-day corrosion and coatings conference that will take place on November 20-22 in Shanghai. The AGM and Green Coat event will be a robust event with exhibitors, speakers, technical session and more. If you have not already made plans to attend, you should!
