SSPC Staff Hit the Road to Connect with Members

SSPC had the recent pleasure of putting faces to names and fostering deeper connections with our members, as well as the industry we serve. Fourteen-year veteran employee, Silvia Palmieri (Individual Certification Specialist) took time to schedule meetings throughout Florida and Virginia this past spring to visit affiliates and contractors in-person, with the goal of building stronger connections and to deepen channels of communication within the industry. She looks forward to traveling to California in September to further network and increase our understanding of the individuals we serve at The Society for Protective Coatings.

Starting her travels in April of this year, Silvia visited six different companies in the state of Virginia, including Newport News and Marine Hydraulics. With an organized initiative she dove into a very meaningful week, touching on topics at each location such as sustaining individual certifications, Membership benefits, and improving customer service.

Silvia continued in May with visits to Jacksonville, Tampa, and Tarpon Springs, FL, accompanied by coworker Melissa Pinolini (Training and Certification Specialist). Over the course of a 7-day trip, they met with 14 different companies throughout the state including BAE shipyards and KVK Contracting. Each meeting focused on Certification & Training, the value of SSPC membership, and how the QP programs affect the industry at large.

Future travel plans include Silvia and Sara Badami (Training Department Manager) taking customer service to the road in California this coming September. The overarching goal is to focus on taking honest and direct feedback, as well as introducing The SSPC’s growing staff to our industry; creating a solid, and familiar worldwide network. We look forward to seeing you out there!
