QP 1 Revisions Balloted to Committee

Draft #3 of proposed revisions to SSPC-QP 1, Standard Procedure for Evaluating the
Qualifications of Industrial/Marine Painting Contractors has been balloted to the SSPC C.3.5.1 Committee. The ballot opened March 15th and will close at midnight on April 15th, 2018. The major proposed revision in Draft #3 is the addition of language requiring a QP 1-certified Contractor to notify the qualifying agency (SSPC) when it uses non-QP certified subcontractors; and the addition of a requirement that the QP 1-cerified Contractor must comply with facility owner requirements related to approval of subcontractors.
