The resilience of SPF Professionals resonated last week in San Antonio, Texas, at SprayFoam 2022 (SF22). For many, SF22 was the first convention and expo they attended since the last SPFA Convention and Expo in Pasadena. As many recalled, it was just a few short weeks after our event that COVID-19 shut down the world. It has been a challenging two years, but last week’s convention showed the strength of the SPF industry.

The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), the educational and technical resource to the spray polyurethane foam (SPF) industry, recognized the winners of the 16th Annual SPFA National Industry Excellence Awards. Sponsored by Arkema and Evonik, the industry awards program showcases many of the industry’s recent and most noteworthy projects completed by contractors located across the nation, highlighting best-in-class applications of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) in insulation, roofing and specialty applications, as well as elastomeric coatings applications. The SPFA recognized all winners on Wednesday, March 1 during the program’s official awards ceremony held at SprayFoam 2022 Convention & Expo in San Antonio, Texas.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine this week threatens to further upend international supply chains still reeling from the protracted COVID-19 pandemic and other disruptions, experts say.

Nonresidential construction material prices rose 3.1% from December 2021 to January and increased 24.3% compared with one year ago. Softwood lumber prices are up 20.1% year-over-year and 24.4% from December 2021 to January. Iron and steel prices are up 67.8% year-over-year and down 2.9% for the month.

From Construction Executive: working in confined spaces can be dangerous on several fronts. These spaces often have a limited number of exits and entryways, making it difficult for workers to evacuate in an emergency. Employers need to have a robust confined space rescue plan in place to ensure they can safely get workers out of spaces when their health and safety are at risk.
