SPFA News and Announcements
The Maryland Senate and the Maryland House of Delegates are considering two identical bills (SB-524 and HB-108) that contains language eliminating the use of insulations containing chemical sensitizers (e.g., SPF insulation and sealants) in all state weatherization programs. This could easily develop into a statewide ban of all SPF insulation materials. If you reside in Maryland or do business in Maryland, we need your help to contact key legislators BEFORE NOON on FEBRUARY 10th to oppose this bill. We make this process easy – it takes less than one minute – by clicking HERE or texting “SPF-MD” to 52886 on your smartphone.

Excitement for the SPFA Convention is growing and folks are making plans to attend. The San Antonio Marriott River Walk is sold out on some of our convention nights. The GOOD NEWS is that the River Walk and downtown area of San Antonio has many hotel options. The Marriott River Center Hotel is directly across the street from our headquarter hotel and there are a multitude of other hotels nearby to suit every traveler’s preference. We suggest visiting www.marriott.com and/or the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau website for other hotel information.

Since the start of 2022, SPFA has received many questions regarding the status of SprayFoam 2022 Convention and Expo in regard to the recent Omicron outbreak. As of this writing, we are planning to move forward with the in-person event, following all venue, city and state requirements. Prior to opening registration, SPFA posted the SPFA Duty of Care Notice on the attendee registration page, which defines SPFA policies and procedures during the event. This week we’ve added an update section at the top of the SprayFoam 2022 webpage.  Any changes to the event will be immediately posted here, so please check this page regularly. This update section also includes a link to the San Antonio Convention Center. On the top of the page, the latest COVID safeguards issued by the convention center and City of San Antonio are provided.
If you have additional questions about the status of the show, please email Rick Duncan.

SPFA Job Board
SPFA is doing its part to bring awareness of open positions in the industry to our members, partners, and untapped talent pools. For every one of these positions going unfilled it’s an opportunity missed, an extra staffing challenge drawing attention away from other important priorities, or a customer perhaps needing to wait longer than they should have to.
