GSA’s Green Proving Ground (GPG) program and DOE’s High Impact Technology (HIT) Catalyst have issued a joint Request for Information calling for innovative emerging building technologies that can cost-effectively transform the operational efficiency of federal and commercial buildings. Responses to this RFI will be evaluated based on your technology’s potential environmental performance, cost savings, and opportunity for widescale deployment. Technologies will be considered, by one or both programs, for third-party measurement and verification in occupied, operational buildings.

Colorado became the second state to offer DOE’s Home Energy Score statewide in September through its Better Buildings Colorado program. Colorado joins Connecticut, which began offering the score statewide in April 2015, and other states are expected to follow next year. The Home Energy Score, similar to a vehicle's miles-per-gallon rating, helps homeowners and homebuyers understand how much energy a home is expected to use and provides suggestions for improving its energy efficiency.
