Missouri’s Bond Strength Investigation

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has released a report that identifies the effects of MoDOT’s tack coat specification change. MoDOT recently increased its minimum tack coat application rates to more closely follow national guidelines in order to mitigate the issues with delaminated asphalt layers in Missouri. Delaminated asphalt layers are a major cause of premature pavement deterioration that dramatically decreases the pavement’s service life.
