OSHA Silica Seminar Held on November 2

On November 2, industry members gathered at CR Jackson's training facility to hear a presentation by OSHA Safety and Health Training Coordinator Joseph Crow on the OSHA Silica Ruling as it applies to the construction industry.

Attendees received an overview of the silica ruling and and learned about changes that will need to take effect within their companies in order to comply with the ruling.

Recently, NAPA released a Special Report: Written Silica Exposure Control Plans for Road Construction Activities, which provides guidance on developing ECPs for common road construction activities. This document, coupled with NAPA’s Competent Person guidance, offers specific examples of how to comply with some of the rule’s provisions. NAPA's guidance provides additional information on conducting an exposure assessment. For more resources related to the OSHA Silica Rule, visit www.AsphaltPavement.org/Silica
