Women of Asphalt (WofA) is Seeking Members to Participate in Working Groups

Women of Asphalt (WofA) is looking for members to participate in the strategic planning process by joining a working group. These groups will help to shape the future and forward the mission and goals of WofA. The working groups and group leaders are as follows:

  • Membership/Marketing - Ashley Batson, JD, Executive Director for South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association - This group is responsible for developing programs and initiatives to encourage membership in WofA.
  • Programs - Kari Shiflett, Director of Human Resources for Lakeside Industries - This group is responsible for workforce development and recruiting women into the asphalt industry.
  • Chapters - Kirsten Pauley, PE, Executive Director for Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana - This group is responsible for creating opportunities for women to connect on a local level.
  • Partnerships - Tracie Schlich, Director of Marketing and Membership for Asphalt Institute, and Debbie Novak, Sales Representative for Missouri Petroleum - This group is responsible for identifying and recruiting funding and champions for WofA.
  • National Events - Judy Pellicano, Vice President of Assets for Colas USA, and Sheila Barkevich, VP of Asphalt and Quality Control for Callanan Industries, a CRH co. - This group is responsible for planning and implementing events at national conferences/conventions.
  • Communications - Amy Miller, PE, National Director for Asphalt Pavement Alliance - This group is responsible for selecting, writing and publishing communication pieces and for developing a process for sharing association activities via digital media.

 
Working Group Member Requirements; 

  • Must be a WofA member
  • Must be able to "meet" via conference call with the working group at regular intervals determined by the Working Group Leaders
  • Must be able to actively contribute to the successful completion of working group objectives

If you would like to get more involved in helping to lead and inspire women in the asphalt industry by serving on one of these working groups, please send an email to info@womenofasphalt.com by Monday, August 19. Please include:

  • Years in the industry
  • Preferred working group 

Because of the limited number of slots in each working group, not all respondents will be able to participate in a working group. However, there will be lots more opportunities in the future to get more actively involved in WofA.
