Save the Date: Overlay Design Seminar - 9/22

Next month in Columbia, SCAPA will kick off a new round of seminars statewide. The first seminar for overlay design will be held on September 22nd at the Palmetto Club in Columbia, SC. Civil Engineers, Public Works officials or anyone that designs, constructs or maintains local roads and parking lots are encouraged to attend. 

In 2014 and 2015, SCAPA held classes across the state for hundreds of consultants, engineers, county/municipal public works officials along with contractors and suppliers in the asphalt industry. The first round of seminars addressed design, materials required and construction of new pavements. For the upcoming seminars, the classes will address thin and traditional overlays, as well as how to select an appropriate overlay thicknesses after evaluating existing pavements. 

If you do not live in the Columbia market, do not worry if you cannot attend the 9/22 seminar! SCAPA is planning on hosting the Overlay Design at sites across the state.
