Palmetto Corp is headquartered in Conway, SC, with plant operations in Conway, Florence and Bishopville. The company's scope of work includes: asphalt paving & maintenance, grading, storm drainage & utilities, reclamation, concrete, crushing, hauling and erosion control.
Palmetto Corp services the following counties: Horry, Georgetown, Florence, Marion, Dillon, Darlington, Williamsburg, Berkeley, Clarendon, Sumter, Lee, Kershaw, Marlboro and Richland.
In 1987, Marshall Godwin founded Palmetto Paving after working for years with his father Mack at Godwin Construction. Marshall’s son, Shawn Godwin, joined the company in 1994 and has helped the company expand from a paving company to a fully integrated, complete site development and construction company. Under Shawn’s leadership, Palmetto Corp has grown from 25 employees and $5 million in annual revenue to over 350 employees and over $70 million in annual revenue.The diversity of services Palmetto Corp. provides its customers, and its ability to handle every element of a construction project as a general contractor from start to finish, makes the company unique.
Palmetto Corp received a Grant Thorton South Carolina 100 (SC100) Award in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Additionally, Palmetto Corp was named to Pavement Magazine’s Top Contractor List in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Asphalt Pro magazine recently featured Palmetto Corp in its May/June 2016 issue.
