On Dec. 4, 2015, President Obama signed into law the first long-term highway bill with robust funding since 1998, the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act of 2015, to authorize funds for Federal-aid highways and highway safety programs. The five-year, $305 billion legislation -- $281 billion allocated to highway and road projects -- provides the needed certainty to plan for long-term projects that rebuild America's highways, roads, and bridges.
