Dear CPHR Saskatchewan member, Every day, we are hearing stories from employers, chambers of commerce and HR leaders on how HR professionals are going above and beyond to meet people’s needs as the COVID-19 situation evolves. In case you are not hearing it, everyone at CPHR Saskatchewan wants you to know that your hard work and your unique expertise qre being recognized here and across the province. We also know the difficult decisions and days our members have been having, informing people that their jobs are on hold, for now. We continue to support you, through the COVID-19 Resource Centre, where timely information is available for your use and reference. We will also be capturing your stories and helping to ensure these stories are told, when the time is right. CPHR Saskatchewan staff continue to work remotely to maintain service to our members. Virtual HR volunteer opportunities exist with the Regina Public Library via Zoom. The library is looking for HR professionals to assist teens and adults with resumes, cover letters, interview prep and career-related questions online through Zoom. Weekly one-on-one resume and job coaching sessions will be taking place every Tuesday (3:30-5:00 pm). Volunteer opportunities also exist with group sessions (webinars) that can accommodate with presenters' schedules. Professional Development
Speaker proposals are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis. If you are interested in speaking at the 2020 Conference, the 2021 HR Forum or a 2020/2021 professional development event, click here to review the Speaker Proposal Guidelines and submit an online application. All members are encouraged to share this information with potential HR speakers in their networking circles. Speaker proposals for the 2020 Conference will be reviewed and evaluated in early May 2020. Submitted proposals remain "open" for a period of two years. CPHR Saskatchewan congratulates Saskatchewan Polytechnic on the accreditation of their Business Diploma in Human Resources. Graduates from April 2016 and onward are eligible to waive the NKE with an overall cumulative average of 70% or higher. This is CPHR Saskatchewan’s first program to become accredited. Given the current circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the spring exam has been postponed to June 18 and 19, 2020. The exam format will be a remote proctored exam, and can be taken anywhere in the world. The registration and cancellation date is today, April 17. The Validation of Experience (VOE) Assessment is the final step in the process to become a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). There are changes coming to the Validation of Experience Assessment, as such there will not be a June 30, 2020 intake. Details to follow in May. CPHR Alberta has launched a webinar series until April 23 to assist HR professionals with navigating the ever-changing pandemic environment. Even after barriers are lifted, the effect on people’s lives, employment and the economic and social impacts of the crisis will linger on. We need to act now to anticipate and respond to the challenges that will emerge in this uncertain future. |
