Update: The HR Profession Act Moved to Final Stage of the Legislative Process

Timeline of Events

  • Dec. 9, 2020 — Bill-19 is introduced for first reading and consideration of the Legislative Assembly
  • April 13, 2021— Bill-19 is in second reading debate
  • May 10, 2021 — Bill-19 passes Standing Committee on Human Resources review
  • May 11, 2021 — Bill-19 is introduced for third reading

Royal assent is the final stage to the introduction of Bill-19. This will occur the week of May 17, where the lieutenant governor is asked by the speaker to give royal assent. This completes the enactment of the bill, which is now called an act.
