How You See The World Around You?

This month we asked members to report on what they see in the upcoming year for their businesses concerning revenues, equipment purchases and delivery, and employee retention. If you have an idea for a survey for CRA members, please send your request to CRA at Info@CalRental.org

1. As far as business is concerned, how do you see total revenues?
Increase: 65% (20 responses)
Decrease: 10% (3 responses)
The same: 19% (6 responses)
Additional comments:
1. About same since COVID.
2. I see an increase because of projects pushed back in 2021.

2. How do you see rental rates?
Increase: 84% (26 responses)
Decrease: 0% (0 responses)
The same: 16% (5 responses)

3. How are you seeing delivery of new equipment?
Increase: 17% (5 responses)
Decrease: 48% (14 responses)
The same: 14% (4 responses)
Additional comments:
1. Lead times are 3 to 6 months and longer.
2. New equipment deliveries depend on what demand for equipment is and the availability of the equipment.
3. Primarily because of CARB restrictions, Honda etc., we are seeing delays from manufacturers by many months more than ever before.
4. Challenged.
5. It’s taking longer.
6. Slower.

4. How do you see employee retention?
Increase: 19% (6 responses)
Decrease: 29% (9 responses)
The same: 45% (14 responses)
Additional comments:
1. Hope to see increase.
2. Dependable money-making employees will be hard to keep.

5. Survey Ideas
1. Great survey!!!
2. We have to address the issue of undocumented immigrants working with and using rental equipment. Most have little or know experience with equipment.This is increasing daily, so who is responsible for an injury or fatality. Food for thought. Mitch Gutierrez
3. Repeal the minimum wage.
4. With costs going up, are you increasing your rental rates? With slower delivery, are you planning further ahead for equipment purchasing?
5. What have you done to retain or attract new employees?
