1. What type of rental business do you have?

1. We generally ask an employee to become a specialist on a tool or proceedure and have him demonstrate it. A paycheck insert is a good idea. It could summarize the presentation.
2. Quarterly staff meetings.
3. Deal with specific problems.
4. Screaming at the top of my lungs when somebody does something stupid.

Additional comments:
1. Before my company went to direct deposit payroll, we would offer checks the nignt before payday; if the employee would stay for a quick 10 to 12 minute safety topic or demonstration.
2. Our quarterly meetings are 1-2 hours.
3. Give employees bonus for attending.
4. Depends on how stupid my employees act.

1. When a special meeting was held, we would offer pizza and soft drinks. For example, when the profit sharing folks made a presentation, we would provide refreshments.
2. Only for the longer meetings.

1. As times progressed, we changed our procedures and the company ownership as well.

1. In some of the meetings, we would fire up the barbecue and provide hot dogs and occasionally hamburgers with half of the crew taking first lunch and half the crew taking second lunch. On rare occasions, some of us would get two lunch periods.
2. Weekly tailgate meetings are during regular business hours. Monthly and quarterly meetings are after work.

1. I think these surveys are important and encourage all members to read, think, participate and profit from the experience of our fellow rental people.
