SAIA Announces Approval of ANSI A92 Suite of Standards

The Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) has announced that the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has finalized and approved the new ANSI/SAIA A92.20/22/24 standards. They were published Dec. 10 and will take effect in December 2019.

The current A92 standards listed below will remain effective until they are replaced by the new suite in December 2019.

The SAIA wants to acknowledge all the hard work and effort put in by those involved with the process and celebrate a milestone achievement that was more than six years and hundreds of man-hours in the making.

About ANSI and the SAIA
As the voice of the U.S. standards and conformity assessment system, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) empowers its members and constituents to strengthen the U.S. marketplace position in the global economy while helping to assure the safety and health of consumers and the protection of the environment. conformance to standards.

The Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) is a non-profit trade 501(c)(6) association committed to raising the standards of professionalism within the scaffold and access industry. The SAIA represents all facets of the scaffold and access industry through various councils that include, aerial work platform, construction hoist, fall protection equipment, international, industrial, mast climbing, plank and platform, shoring, supported scaffold and suspended scaffold.

Through its various programs, the SAIA promotes safety, training and a highly professional, responsible image of the scaffold and access professional. The SAIA delivers thousands of safety training programs a year at various locations throughout the world. These programs cover all aspects of scaffold and access safety and equipment use.

As Secretariat for ANSI, the SAIA is responsible for organization of the A92 Committee and its accreditation in accordance with ANSI requirements. The Secretariat ensures that the committee is in compliance with ANSI procedures. The Secretariat primarily performs the administrative work of the committee and is the liaison between the A92 Committee and ANSI. These duties consist of arranging for ballots and publication of A92 standards. along with revisions and edits of these standards. Records of the ANSI Standards that have been published and the renewal cycle of each standard are also kept.
