Turnover is straining 9-1-1 centers everywhere. Attend this webinar to learn:

  • Best practices from several accomplished 9-1-1 directors that you can put into practice to close the revolving door.
  • Tips for automating everyday manual tasks so supervisors can get more time back in their day to mentor, coach and support staff.
  • Why a consistent, targeted Quality Assurance & Improvement (QA/QI) program is essential to helping telecommunicators succeed and stay on the job.
  • How to leverage targeted QA reviews, and call handling and dispatch performance metrics to uncover coachable moments, performance issues, training gaps and recognition opportunities, and help telecommunicators before they slide too far down the slippery slope.

Three new topics begin on April 1 in APCO’s Illuminations CDE Program annual subscription program. The general track session includes information on creating a console checklist for workday preparation. The EMD track takes a deeper look at 9-1-1 calls involving agricultural injuries. The Communications Training Officer (CTO) track focuses on CTO situational awareness, which includes role play, scenarios and other types of training to improve trainee performance. The Illuminations program is offered as an annual subscription with new topics monthly (quarterly for CTO Track) throughout the year and provides up to 12 CDEs for recertification.

When integrated with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems that provide latitude and longitude call information, APCO IntelliComm's configurable guidecard technology provides immediate location details and mapped data of the nearest AED locations in a cardiac emergency. With mapped data displayed onscreen, public safety telecommunicators can inform callers of nearby AED locations for quicker lifesaving measures in a cardiac emergency.
