APCO’s Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) Program is designed for emergency communications professionals seeking to develop management skills for successful ECC operations. During the online program, participants will delve into various topics, including organizational management, change management, fostering connections and consensus, and optimizing team performance. The program takes place monthly and is open to both APCO members and non-members. Now accepting RPL applications for programs offered through June 2024.

Iowa's State APCO Board has selected Commander Nic Briseño as Iowa’s APCO- AFC Local Advisor. He has worked for the Story County Sheriff’s Office since 2009, including supervision of local PSAP and P25 trunked system installation and management. He serves as a representative to both the shared area radio agreement (SARA) network, Iowa’s Harris P25 trunked system, and to the Iowa statewide interoperable communications system (ISICS), Iowa’s Motorola P25 trunked system.

Commander Briseño currently serves broader APCO interests on both the Spectrum and Technology Committee and the Cybersecurity Committee. He is also the National Sheriff’s Association’s appointee to the P25 Steering Committee.
