On March 31, APCO joined several organizations in a joint letter asking FCC leadership to take specific actions to prevent interference to public safety and critical infrastructure users of 6 GHz spectrum. The letter is the result of a good faith attempt to consolidate these users’ concerns (which have been raised repeatedly without a response from the FCC) and provide the FCC with a reasonable path forward for protecting public safety while permitting spectrum sharing with unlicensed Wi-Fi devices.

Separately, April 5, APCO filed comments in opposition to a request to expand unlicensed device access to 6 GHz. The unlicensed proponents continue to press for even more relaxed rules despite significant concerns of interference, and APCO opposed this request as being unjustified.
