On November 30, the Public Safety Next Generation 9-1-1 Coalition (which includes APCO and other national public safety organizations) sent a letter to congressional leadership to encourage action before the end of the current congressional term to fully fund a NG9-1-1 grant program. The letter noted that NG9-1-1 funding was included in legislation that passed the House of Representatives and that a corresponding legislative package under consideration by the Senate appears likely to include NG9-1-1 funding. Thus, the Coalition urged congressional leaders to take advantage of this prime opportunity to ensure federal NG9-1-1 funding legislation is enacted into law.
