South Dakota may not be the first place you think of when you imagine large events and social gatherings that require public safety oversight. Yet, each year the state manages several large-scale events. During this webinar the presenters will demonstrate how mobile broadband and the FirstNet verified app ‘Bridge4PS’ provided agencies across the state with the situational awareness they needed for full interoperability. In addition, a representative from the Visual Labs app will demonstrate a cost-effective means of getting eyes-on-the-scene when separated from an encounter by space or time.

Yesterday, members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee introduced the LIFT America Act, an infrastructure bill that includes $15 billion for the deployment and implementation of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) throughout the country. The NG9-1-1 provisions (section 15001) adhere to principles established by APCO and its partners in the Public Safety Next Generation 9-1-1 Coalition, a broad group of national public safety organizations representing law enforcement, fire, EMS and 9-1-1.

Getting involved in the development of APCO American National Standards is an excellent way to contribute your knowledge as well as learn from your peers. We need volunteers who are producers of public safety communications equipment, products, processes, systems and services. You do not need to be an expert or an APCO member to participate. Deadline to express interest is March 26.
